Developed under the leadership of Dr. Carolina Cruz-Neira, this virtual environment acts as a hub between different virtual reality experiences. Pegasus Outpost is a fictional research and terraforming station on a distant world where new users engage in tasks that help get the facilities up and running, while at the same time learning fundamental controls and the basics of interaction within the CAVE automatic virtual environment. Users with more experience in VR may opt instead to explore a number of virtual exhibits in the bug, each of which covers an aspect of space travel, terraforming, or exploration, all based in real life scientific research.
